To hear about a country from someone who is actually from it is quite more interesting to hear, to see it from the eyes of someone that’s talks about it because is what he knows and wants to share it with other is awesome, is like going there and have a tour or something like that. 

Cultural Identity

For us cultural identity is what makes you part of a group of people, such as, languages, actions, believes, costumes, points of view, moral, is the complement of the past to your everyday life; it takes part in your personality and the way you see the world and relate to other people.

The elements that we think makes our cultural identity are our believes, for example, one of us is Christian and the other one is Catholic, so we see things in different ways which makes us like different things and have different opinions about some topics; Our actions, makes us part of the same culture, but even though we have the same culture we don't take part in each tradition. 

I think it’s interesting to see how even when two people belongs to the same culture can have different beliefs that is what makes them different and form an identity according to the beliefs each one have.

I think that the Mayans are one of the most important cultures we have, since they made great discoveries, in all sciences, and are important to history and is sad to see how this cultures get lost with time because of prejudices of people. 

Introducing my self and a friend

Hi, my name is Jacqueline, I'm 18 years old and I'm majoring in Communication and Digital Media. I love to spend my free time writing fictional stories, reading a good book, especially magic related ones, watching TV series, and going to the theater, I love musicals! And recently I've discovered that I love dancing! So I'm taking jazz classes on Tuesday and Thursdays afternoons. I'm really shy and daydreaming, I can get easily distracted but I'm determinate when doing something that I really like; that sometimes leads to me being stubborn to no end and I love to be sarcastic most of the time, even when I don’t mean to, it just comes natural, of course that only happens once I’ve got to know someone well and trust them; in the family department I can tell that I have a little sister that’s my life, more than my sister she’s my best friend; we can tell each other everything and we’re very protective of each other.

Arturo, one of my classmates, is 18 years old and is majoring in Economy, he likes to play basketball which is actually his favourite sport and also likes swimming, he has a dog, he likes to meet new people and make friends; he likes any type of music, rap specially; I’ve known him since Junior High School and it was a long time till I saw him again, he used to be a little shy and rather serious, I don’t know if he’s still that way, now though he looks like someone who is really focus on what he wants and what he has to do to achieve his goal, clear minded and I think he also is really good at organizing things and planning seeing him in the same College was really a nice surprise.

This activity was really useful, with this, we got to know more about the persons we’re going to be working with the whole semester and was nice to also get to know how someone else sees you.

I think is interesting the things that my partners say about which
are the characteristics of a world citizen; One of them mentions that is
important to be open minded and I think that’s one of the main things that are
needed, because of people of close mind is that sometimes the world come down
and down slowly.
